Skin Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that’s used to treat skin concerns via collagen production.

Overview

How does microneedling work?

Microneedling works by encouraging your skin to make more collagen. Pinpricks from the procedure injure the skin, promoting the creation of new collagen-rich tissue. This new skin tissue is more even in tone and texture.

What can microneedling help with?

This quick & easy procedure can help with:

  • acne scars
  • age spots (also called “sun spots”)
  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • large pores
  • other types of scars
  • reduced skin elasticity
  • uneven skin tone

Commonly Asked Questions

The doctor will use a topical anaesthetic to reduce the chances of pain and discomfort.

As with most procedures, there are side effects, and Dr Musa will discuss these with you.

The most common are minor skin irritation and redness. These are normal, as the needles cause small ‘injuries’ to the skin.

However, with a certified doctor, there is nothing to worry about!

Microneedling is minimally invasive, so the recovery time is very short.

One thing to note is the redness, which can be covered with make-up if one desires.
Your skin will also be more sensitive to the sun, so sunscreen is a must.

Results are usually seen after a few weeks. Your skin works fairly quickly to rejuvenate new tissue.

Multiple treatments are usually needed for maximum and ongoing benefits.
